Options flow tracker for sessions, history and context
An options flow tracker records how premium, volume, trade count and put/call activity change over time. Realtime Options combines an intraday flow view with historical trend dashboards and contract-level history, which helps researchers compare a current spike with earlier sessions instead of treating the newest alert as the whole story.
- Intraday
- Weighted call and put flow beside price
- Historical
- Premium, volume, put/call ratio and trade count
- Contract level
- Ask, mid, bid, price, volume and open interest
- Purpose
- Compare patterns; never promise outcomes

What to track besides a large print
The print is the event; the tracker is the surrounding timeline. A good tracker preserves enough context to show whether activity repeated, broadened, reversed or disappeared after the initial event.
- Net premium and put/call ratio for directional balance.
- Volume beside trade count to distinguish blocks from many small trades.
- Underlying price to compare activity with the market response.
- Open interest on the next published update to study whether positions remained open.
- News timestamps to separate unexplained activity from scheduled catalysts.
Intraday tracking versus historical tracking
Intraday tracking asks what changed during the current session. Historical tracking asks whether the session is unusual relative to the recent distribution. Both are needed because a number can be large in absolute terms and ordinary for that ticker.
Realtime Options keeps the two jobs separate: Weighted Net Flow is the session view, while Flow Trend and contract-history panels provide the comparison window.
A tracker is a research log, not a prediction engine
Tracking makes patterns visible but does not establish cause. A repeated call print can represent directional demand, a hedge, a spread or a roll, and the same visible pattern may lead to different price outcomes under different volatility and liquidity conditions.
Use the tracker to formulate and test questions. Do not convert a recurring visual shape into a guaranteed setup or backfill a story after the market moves.
Questions people ask about this
Can I track options flow historically?
Yes. The platform includes historical flow and trend views for comparing premium, volume, put/call ratio and trade count across sessions, plus shorter contract-level windows for large prints.
Does an options flow tracker show open positions?
It can show published open interest, but open interest is calculated after clearing and is not an intraday position feed. It also does not identify the owner or purpose of a position.
Can I create trade alerts from the tracker?
The product supports configurable notifications around analytics, but those notifications are research prompts rather than trade recommendations or automated orders.
